The historic core of the city is Zaïtchi Island (Hare Island). It was here that on May 27, 1703, the foundation stone of the Peter and Paul Fortress, considered the founding moment of the city, was laid. Key sites from the Imperial era can be found here – such as the Mint, the burial place of the Romanov Grand Dukes or the casemates of the Trubetskoy Bastion (main political prison).
The association “African Organization of Russophony”: “The Russian-speaking world in Africa” is governed by the provisions of Law No. 61.233 regulating associations in the Central African Republic of May 27, 1961. . It is registered with the Prefecture of Bangui. The association is active in several countries in Africa.
